I do not know any full time carers my aunt used to take care of a family friend. Every morning she would get up and make sure that the old dear was ok. Luckily she was not physically disabled :)
Do you have any local support?

I wondered why you asked that question and what you were hoping to gain from it. there have got to be loads of people in the caring position either at home and in professional settings. Perhaps you could share a bit more ..

As you say, there are lot's of people in caring roles, formal and informal, paid and unpaid. It must be a very difficult role at times, but overall very rewarding. It can also be lonely having to stay at home to look after someone, so it would be good for carers to communicate with each other more.

Yes I agree Peter. I wondered if this lady needed more support for example friendship/transport or an opportunity for herself to build a social network outside of the home. I do empathise wit her and hope this site becomes more active. I hope Amandah comes back to the site.

Maybe its what you said - above - that she hasn't returned. It did sound a bit harsh.
