Information on Esher required

Hi

We are considering moving into a house in Farm Road, in Esher (near the resevoir and industrial estate) and are keen to find out as much as possible. THe property seems suprisingly cheap for Esher!

Obviously this is an ex-local authority/council area but I wondered if anyone could tell me what the area is actually like? Is it particularly dangerous at night (when walking to and from the train station)? Is there a particular reputation attached to the area?

I only know Esher as a visitor, but I really like the High Street area. You may already know but there are a couple of good local pubs at one end - the Bear and the Albert Arms. I am sure they would be a good source of information about the surrounding area - you could chat to the bar staff to get their views and they will not be as biased as an estate agent.

Esher have a good rugby club - if you are a player or spectator. Also a junior section. It would be a good source of info about the area generally, with all sorts of people involved. Check out what will be happening there on the website - esherrugby.com
