Are there any other folk who feel as I do about the siting of Guildford's Post Office?Where it used to be, sited at the bottom of North Street only a short walk from the Bus Station was ideal. I was under the impression that where it is now - at the top of North Street by the junction/traffic lights leading into the upper High Street was just temporary whilst the original site was 'revamped. Well time has passed by and the new site is obviously there to stay. I can't help but empathise with all those in wheelchairs or with mobility problems (I am one of them) who find hiking up the hill to be utterly ludicrous and NOT user friendly.A Post Office is an essential public service and should be easily accessible and where it is now, it isn't.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Anyone remember when you could pay your Pay Point bills 'within' the town? The Post Office has now stopped taking TV Licence and Water payments but does Electricity and Telephone. Why can't we have a town centre location near the bus station for Pay Point bills ??? Not everyone has a car to go driving out to Burpham, Merrow or wherever else the odd corner shop has a Pay Point machine. The same applies for Key meter top ups such as electricity and gas.I'm a pensioner and receive my pension weekly. I therefore can't set up a direct debit and pay monthly as it would come out of one weeks money which I just can't afford to do.Anyone else stuck in the same situation?
