Christmas is suppose to be a joyful time spent with family and friends, but some criminals target most people during this time. Don't they even have a tiny heart to just let people be.

I am lucky enough to have some time off over the the “silly season” which I am so looking forward to, thinking of going away with some friends after Christmas, whilst spending Christmas at home with my family.

I must say after reading this article (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/surrey/8412131.stm), I really do feel that I should give more respect to the police, as most of them will not be able to spend Christmas with there families, as they will have there hands full trying to maintain any domestic violence offences of this season.

I know that there are allot of other companies that will be open during the festive season, as there jobs (http://www.careers-jobs.eu/) require it, - just like my company, but I am fortunate enough to get leave, but my company closes down for Christmas and re-opens on the 29th December, but criminals offenders don't stop... they really couldn't care less.

Shameless  ... does anyone agree?

Its all the boozing isn't it? Some people just cannot handle their drink which is why this ends up happening! They all let loose drink more than normal and end up in a fight or whatever! Why not just control yourself and not drink more than you can handle????

I feel sorry for anyone that has to work over the xmas period (like myself LOL), I mean I get all the standard days off, xmas day and so on, but people in emergency services and catering etc don't have that luxury do they? Its horrible I think! My housemate works in a restaurateur and they have a very busy time over the xmas period so no one gets any days off at all! Work xmas day, xmas eve and even boxing day! Horrific isn't it?

It is actually really sad. I believe that in the olden days, everything was closed, doesn't matter what job sector you were in, x-mas was family time, no question about it.

That is why they call this the silly season... the worst is definitely new years!!!! Some people are to suborn to own up to the fact that they can't drink allot, so they would rather get trashed than come across as someone who can't drink... peer pressure!!

I am so grateful for people in these services, even if some of the individuals do come across as rude and what so ever, they offer up there festive season to perhaps safe a live... amazing people, doing good deeds.

When I was younger I remember I always wanted to be a doctor, I was not aware of the time spans that they worked at, not that I was worried, but as I got older, I found out that studying for medicine is REALLY expensive – so out went that idea and in came new ones, hehehe!

I know when to stop, and I can openly admit that I am a cheap date... not to many for me, else I will see double, lol! I do however enjoy a good party!!!! :D

Haha Jessi you make me laugh as I am also a cheap date lol! Trust me I only need a few drinks! I admit I am a lightweight and what? Hehe!

I do feel for all the people that have to work xmas day etc... your right it is meant to be down time for all and it is a shame that some of us just dont get that time out to have it with our families :(

Unfortunately the greediness of some people leads to this. I am so thankful that I am not working in retail either, as I think that they only get Christmas off. Eeeek, not nice.

I hope you have a wonderful for Christmas and a Happy New Year. Now don't drink to much, hehehe
