Hey guys, sorry I haven’t visited in so long – got really caught up with work over the past few months!

Anyway, I was on Get Surrey (http://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/s/2064199_familys_stunned_reaction_to_261m_lottery_w in) earlier today and was shocked to hear that someone in Dorking has won the euro millions! It wasn’t the biggest draw I have ever seen but I sure wouldn’t mind winning £26.1 million! I’m not sure about you guys, but it always gets me thinking what I would do with that sort of money. I think shopping in London would be one of the first things to do haha! ;):D

One thing that did surprise me was that the family are going to keep their Surrey jobs (http://www.careers-jobs.eu/surrey-jobs). The winner claimed that his family should still work even if they could afford not to. I can imagine life would get a little boring if you had no job, but I’m not sure that I would still want to work full-time all week. Do you think that may be work ethics gone too far? I think many people dream of having enough money to leave work forever and I wouldn’t be surprised if many aim for it. If you won that money, would you keep your job? Honestly?

I'm not sure that I would keep my job but I would like to start my own business or invest in something. I think I would get very bored if I sat around and did nothing. I would of course travel round the world for a year or two but then I would seriously think about doing some sort of work. Even if it was just a few hours a week.

I think I will keep on working until I die, with or without the euro millions!!! I will get so bored.
I would however, love to win the money. Keep it gaining interest and use some of it to finance some of my business ideas. But the FIRST thing I will get is a proper computer. My laptop is driving me up the walls. My Del key just popped off yesterday. Don't know about you but I use that button often, and I have to stick my finger into a hole and press for my life to erase a letter or unlock my laptop. Ig! Oh and I will also buy an IT guy who I will keep in my closet. Whenever computer problems rear its ugly head, I'll just go get "the closet IT guy" to sort it.

I could write a book about the world's worst laptops! The number of laptops that have died on me for no apparent reason is ridiculous. I've now got a Macbook and haven't looked back.

I will be able to take up numerous chapters writing about just my current laptop! And I think we should concider adding a chapter about the possiblity of computers having a brain and life of their own. As I was typing the first sentence, my laptop made a funny noise and closed my internet windows. Although I was still online and nothing could have gone wrong, IT decided I'm not allowed to write bad things about IT.
If anyone does win heaps of money...please buy me a Macbook...pretty please!!!

Haha I think its pretty good that they are keeping down to earth with it all! I mean this way they are teaching thier kids/grand kids the meaning and value of money which is a good thing in my opinion!

I would keep working too - although the work i do may differ slightly!

As for laptops - dont even go there! Mine is a decrepit old thing and dying a slow and painful death! I just cant afford another right now thats all!

My brother told me the other day about winners of lottories across the world who spend all their winnings in under 18 months. And if you think about it, it is possible...buy a couple of homes, eat out every night and pay for all your friend's and family as well, buy designer clothes and several cars and GONE! is everything!

People should really get taught how to work with money. I always thought it would be a fab idea to add a new subject to school: General Knowledge...
A subject that teaches kids random stuff, from how to work with money to just stuff that's going on in the country and world and how it affects us...
But it must be presented in a fun way...

Anywoo back on the lottery topic, I will never spend winnings on cars...maybe its because I'm a girl...but I would rather buy books...(not all at once though), I think I feel the same about opening a new book as smokers feel when they open a new pack of smokes...What would you guys spend lavishly on?

A home abroad. I like the thought of being able to live abroad for part of the year. :)

My current favourite is BC (Canada). I love the outdoors and wilderness and there's plenty of that! :-) An alternative might be NZ, but I have mixed feelings there... I've already done the tropical island thingy and I don't really like the heat...

I also would keep on working, though I might get more selective... Can't really imagine I'd be happy in any way just sitting watching afternoon TV! ugh what a thought...!

Ok so I had to google BC to see where it is in Canada lol! I must say it looks pretty gorgeous there! I wouldn't say no - I have been to Toronto a few years back and loved it - I would live there if the chance came up! Canada is awsome!

Does NZ get that hot then?

I know what your saying about needing to keep working but being more selective - I wouldn't be very comfortable being idle! I like to keep occupied and have things to do!

So you haven't been watching the winter Olympics then? :) I discovered Vancouver... hmmm, 20 years ago... while on one of our round the world wanderings. We couldn't get a direct flight to LA, so we were given a free 2 day stop over in Vancouver and it turned into 2 months :) Might have been longer if it weren't for the excessively blown budget...!

I've not been to Toronto or any of the eastern part of Canada - It's on the list :) We have a family connection to Nova Scotia, though it's quite a way back and no one in the current generation knows exactly what the connection is. One day I intend to go and investigate...

NZ doesn't get that warm, though Auckland tends to be warmer than SE England. Only once do I remember snow on the hills south of Auckland (I was born in Auckland and spent my first 20 odd years there). I was really referring to the tropical islands. I also spent 5 years in Oz which finished me with heat. I endured 50C and 100% humidity in NW Oz - not pleasant. Even swimming in the sea was like taking a hot bath. I love the English cold winter days when the sky is clear and blue...

So I've marked down 3 laptops, should I win a big prize :-)

Wow you have traveled some :) Must be great getting to see the world like that?

I love warm weather more than cold but not overly hot! I think for me 30-35degrees and a breeze is lovely! Anything lower than 15 or 16 and its freezing hehe!

The last few days the weather has been lovely though - just what we needed after all the weeks of grey cloudiness!

I would love to go everywhere that you have been - if I win I am off to see places :)
