The disaster in MAdeira

Hi Guys,

HAve you guys heard about what is happening in Madeira right now? Its awful isn't it? :(

Such a beautiful little island that is normally amazing all year round has been experiencing some very bad weather resulting in floods and land slides etc.... It has really done some damage out there!

Hi Josie, I haven't been listening to the radio or watching much telly this week, what is the latest on Madeira, I know about the disaster that hit the island, but what is the latest news on this? Is it turning as bad as Haiti where people are turning against each other?

[Josie]

Hi Lilly not at all - if anything this small Islands population are trying to work together to find the missing and put things back together - its awful all the damage that has been caused out there! I cannot believe it myself to be hinest!

That is great news! Mother nature has ccreated havoc around the world!First Haiti, then Madeira and now Chile. A friend of mine was on her way their from Argentina and nobody has heard of her yet. Her last FAcebook status said she was off the some or other place which I then needed to google and found out it is in Uruguay. Thank goodness. The up side for Chile is that the area is built in such a way as to be obtain less damage after earth quakes. But it is still horrible and I feel for these people. I really hope governments around the world have money left to help all the countries that have experienced the same lot recently!!!

It is hard to think how all of these people in these countries are coping with all this disaster at the moment! It is strange that is all seems to be happening at the same time as well don't you think?

Global warming at its best????

I can only imagine how much of a big job it is in each of these countries to clear up and get things back to normal again! Chile is lucky that the structures there are built to withstand earthquakes in this way - but it is still quite mind numbing to have to experience anything like that though!

The people involved in the clear up certainly need to be braver than average that's for sure, don't you think so?
