View Full Version : Woking Post Office moves to Smiths
I was so surprised when I went to the Woking Post Office this week and found that it had moved to Smiths. I was short of time, so was not able to go there, but I am amazed that a town the size of Woking no longer has a conventional post office.
Yes, I agree especialy as the market was just outside bringing lots of people who would use the post office to draw out cash, etc. and browse around the market. I'm sure it will have a big effect on the market stall's trade.
A friend of mine tried to buy 100 first class stamps at the wonderful new Post Office in Smiths. She queued up for FIFTEEN minutes then when she finally got to the counter was told "you cant buy 100 stamps here, go to the Foreign Exchange counter".Completely true and this is progress? It makes my blood boil.
How long is acceptable to wait then opqr922?

What sort of post office doesn't sell stamps :s
The post office in Byfleet (situated in an off licence) doesn't have passport forms and they advise you to either travel to Woking or Weybridge. I will keep an eye out and see if woking gets scribbled out of that too hahaha ;)
