Speed limit over Ranmore Common

It's crazy that this is still a 60mph limit. The road is twisty and bumpy, so it's hard for anyone to keep full control of a vehicle at that speed. It's also a lovely area, so hurry? A petition has been organised, Councillor Malcolm Johnson supports it, but I am not sure how you can support it also.

Have Surrey County Council responded yet? The response to the petition was due in December of this year. Has anybody heard anything?

Maybe lighting the area would help

It would help, but it's an unspoilt rural area and lighting would spoil that. Let's hope that the speed limit does finally get imposed
