There has been a lot of information in the press and on television recently about excessive drinking and the problems that this can cause in communities.
You have an opportunity to influence what happens next, by completing a questionnaire online at

This survey seems to be ongoing, does anyone know when the results are due and if suggestions are then going to be published?

There is a contact us section on the survey so I imagine you could find out when the results would be out. I would be interested to see the outcome of this. DOes anyone know if they are doing this in other counties? It would be interesting to be able to compare results.

unfortunately i think too many people drink too much! lol its sad to see it on street corners etc. but every individual has a choice and if they want to drink then why not?

To be honest there is no excuse for the ignorance - all the adverts and scientific knowledge out there. I was taught about the effects when I was 12!!!
However sometimes individuals will drink a lot in a short space of time. It then hits them all at once, and without knowing it they have passed out and are completely intoxicated. Sometimes there are innocent mistakes made.

I have to say though - if offers like "2 for 1 before 9" are wiped out, I think all the drinkers will stop going out and just go to Sainsburys. Pubs are suffering enough as it is and a decline in customers will not help the catering industry at all!
