Peacocks Car Park, Yellow Zone,Woking.

What bright spark at Woking Council decided to rename the buttons in the lift in the car park. I have lived in Woking all of my long life and have kept up with the changes, but for visitors and other people who only visit Woking occasionally it is totally confusing.

The buttons were fairly simple before with: UC for Upper Concourse and MC for Middle Concourse. Now we have BM and TM, yours to decipher. They have, for a while, put paper sheets up next to the lift buttons to tell us what each meant but they have now been removed and I am still getting into the lift with people with puzzled expressions on their faces and I have to explain what these mean. AND BM and TM do not explain which level you are on.

Anyone else feel the same??

PS. BM = Bandstand Mall. TM = Town Mall. Any the wiser as to what level you want in the Peacocks Mall?

As someone who occasionally shops in the Peacocks Mall and uses the lifts, I am glad I saw this before my next visit. It sounds absolutely ridiculous, what on earth is wrong with the usual system? BM and TM do not make sense and I am definitely none the wiser as to what level either of these are. If you have to put up sheets of paper to explain something as simple as lift buttons I think that says that there is definitely something wrong with the system.

Are there any other lifts in the area to watch out for that are following suit with this peculiar idea?

Latest problem in the car park is exposed metal strips in the floor between the lift and the car park.
A friend of mine had a bad fall after tripping over one. She needed medical treatment and the council paid compensation - BUT they still have not fixed the problem and there is no warning sign in the meantime. Do the council plan to do anything soon, or just accept the accident claims?
