Everyone is being encouraged to use cars less and less, but itâ??s impossible to walk to Worplesdon station safely because the narrow road has become so busy and thereâ??s no footpath. Is it going to take someone being killed before they create a safe way of walking there?

Very good point. I walked down there this morning from the A320 and was almost forced into the ditch by the never ending convoy of 4x4's

I sympathise and used to walk this stretch of road myself. I am not sure how the problem can be corrected. Ditches are needed to control flooding and the road is already too narrow for some vehicles to pass. Adding a path or pavement would make the road too narrow. I don't think a a one way system would be welcomed. I am aware that some residents living along the road like it as it is and prefer the country lane look of the road.

Could a footpath be put on the land adjacent to the road and running parallel to it? It appears to be common land and there are already fotpaths that cross it. maybe it is something to get a local councillor involved in?

still no improvements for pedestrians who want to walk to the station without risking their lives in the process

This road is an accident waiting to happen. People have to walk in the road in total darkness apart from the headlights from on coming cars! But one of these days someone is going to get hit by a car because people are not displaying any reflective clothing and cannot be seen by the cars until the cars are too close. The road is very narrow and commuters leaving the station in their cars drive out like maniacs with no thought of any drivers aproaching the station. Something will only be done when a fatality has occurred, like most things, when its too late!!!!!

- under the bridge by the station - so you have to wave down a car and ask them to take you across. This has happened for years - every time there is a lot of rain. Why can't something be done. If it was a dangerous pothole it would be filled in, which shows Surrey's continuing obsession with the car, at the expense of pedestrians
