Anyone going to Guilfest?

just been reading that the policing (http://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/s/2050053_guilfest_policing_to_cost_36000) for the event is going to cost �£36k! wow. i bet the tickets are pricey - ive never been. in my youth (ho ho) i used to go to reading festival but not sure if its worth going to guilfest?

And here the government are... threatening to cap the Surrey Police budget!! I don't think we need to lose anymore police jobs!!

Guilfest (http://www.guilfest.co.uk/2009/lineup.html) is a 3 day music festival in guildford (stoke park i think). Quite a few bands play - charlatans, happy mondays, stranglers and loads of people i've never heard of! not quite reading festie! its on 10- 12th July 2009.

I'm sure it would be fun to work there not sure doing what though? there must be several jobs (http://www.careers-jobs.eu/) on offer - probably mainly selling beer lol!

Do they have a scheme like Reading festival has?

I know that if you volunteer at Reading festival - direct guests, hand out leaflets and be a general help they will let you watch all the bands for free (when you are not on shift) and give you you accommodation for free!

I've not heard of this before but then i've never wanted to do the work! I used to make friends with bands and get in on the guest list hahahahah it still wasn't free becuase we had to make a reasonable donation to whatever charity they were supporting (which is fair enough - still cheaper than a real ticket!) :)
